SOUND PROOF GLASS The glass that prevents sound from penetrating from one side to the other. In most cases, those desiring soundproof glass are those who live near noisy environments, such as airports or busy roads. While glasses, in various configurations, may do a good job of preventing sound from getting through.

INSULATING GLASS These units use the thermal and acoustic insulating properties of a gas (or vacuum) contained in the space formed by the unit. They can provide good insulation without sacrificing transparency (visual transmittance (VT)). Single glazed tinted and reflective glasses can provide similar thermal insulation, but for the same insulation performance are harder to see through and provide little protection against unwanted sound.

CERAMIC PRINTED GLASS materials share many properties with both glasses and ceramics. Glass-ceramics have an amorphous phase and one or more crystalline phases and are produced by a "controlled crystallization" in contrast to a spontaneous crystallization, which is usually not wanted in glass manufacturing. Glass-ceramics usually have between 30% [m/m]and 90% [m/m] crystallinity and yield an array of materials with interesting thermo mechanical properties.

LACQUERED GLASS Any of various clear or colored synthetic coatings made by dissolving nitrocellulose or other cellulose derivatives together with plasticizers and pigments in a mixture of volatile solvents and used to impart a high gloss to surfaces.
